Hey David

Wow - your libration angle is worse that mine, which in itself was worse than Zac's. These images have been quite a revelation for me as I previously thought that libration only produced minor effects.

Cheers

thanks denis :)

so dues to the rocking motion of the moon we can see parts that would otherwise be hidden just on the other side? Wow!

i am now impressed with my crappy picture :D

;) Err...well...yes and no, or not quite the full truth here. Your image shows a poor libration for the southern limb, although if you had imaged the northern limb, it would be good libration at that limb.

Confusing isn't it.

Cheers

Maybe, but there's quite a few pics of moretus, by Dennis, Zac, Sheeny and others :)

Libration is a funny thing, I captured something on teh north pole the other night thanks to favourable libration. It looked very interesting, never seen it before and i'm looking forward to processing it.

did you convert to greyscale? lots of people seem to do that with lunar images, makes them for some reason look better

look forward to more, once all this rain goes away :)

ving

yeah i am looking to more too :)

its not converted to grey scale. but it was only a quick process too... maybe i'll have another go at it, but it like flogging a dead horse, the avi is really poor :)

Mr. Vingo,

I hope you don't mind but I ran your pic thru Registax as a single Bitmap image.

Then I ran it thru PaintShop Pro. All I did was: Greyscale, Soften, Despeckle.

It came out a bit better for you.

No prob ken, thanks :)
looks even better as a thumbnail :)
i gave it another go myself with heavier waveletting and got more detail but it looked even specklier.

I do intend on re shooting this crater... along with one never posted here or lpod! :D

Yes, Gruemberger, a wonderful delicacy of San Merino, the only cheese in the world made from rodents (Geneolepus insignis). These little bilby-like creatures are traditionally hunted at full moon with non-magnetic traps and incorporated into the secret, centuries-old Gruemberger process. It is known that goat's milk is the basis, but an unspecified number and type of herbs are also incorporated. The resulting spherical green cheese is always consumed at the next lunation. It's only the wax outer coating that's green - the interior is pale yellow with holes, and looks much like the Swiss Emmental.
