Took these the other night, was not planned, but really a basic going out session. But that still means I need at least my Canon G1X,the DSLR and tripod did not come.

Managed a few sharper images hand held, these crackers sounded different to others, and rattled away like a fast firing canon. They were very loud!

We did not go to main viewing area,as packed out.But this spot, even though there was bridges, seemed to add something extra to images.I used manual mode, but I cannot seem to open up RAW data in CS5 from G1X,not sure why-so processed JPEG

Here they are not sure what specs I had camera at-but can find out-happy and safe new year to all.

Bravely done and a fair return for hand held.
I was surprised at how short the exposures can be for fireworks having done my first this past New Year (posted in this category on IIS). Still, I would have had far less sucess if I hadn't had a tripod so, well done.
Odd that CS5 won't open the RAW since they are standard CD2, aren't they?
Grab Raw Therapee from http://rawtherapee.com/ and try that. It is like using Lightroom, or Corel Photoshop, but with the advantage of being free. It might give you a processing tool for the G1X

Thanks Trevor.

I did take quite a lot of images, really these the only two that were sharp,a tripod and cable release recommend. But would be hard as always lots of people about.

Yes,not sure why Canon G1X RAW file do not open in CS5 a message comes up,I'll ask in another section on the forum. But thanks for your suggestions. The RAW files of these may yield a better image.
