oops, my bad... sorry bout the spelling error, but it does reflect the seeing conditions of last night and the over all quality of the images:rolleyes: . there was some dust on the IR filter and I was having such a hard time getting focus and a steady image that i didnt bother removing it.

dont get me wrong, i still enjoyed myself :):D

anyhow, heres copernicus and some other part of the moon (mental note: get moon atlas) that i really really like :) **edit: its sinus iridum or bay of rainbows (pretty hey!)**

take with my 8" and lpi. copernicus has 2 stacked 2X barlows while the other only one barlow. each is about 20 stacked images from about 40.

Hi David

I feel for you. When the seeing degenerates I now tend to go eyeballing or mess around with my set up; re-routing cables, fine tuning balance, etc and focus on positive results rather than lament the "one that got away".

This opportunistic and unstructured play time is quite enjoyable and generally free of astro equipment angst.

Cheers

Dennis
