My last hurrah probably.. been a lot of fun over the last few nights.
Wide and crop to show M79 and NGC1886:

Heavily processed.. some dust some artefacts.. hard to tell which is which! ;)
And animation:

Wish we still had eight hours dark sky on it but even two shows some nice evolution of the tail near the head.

Great work, Phil.
The kink in the tail moves along and evolves.
It seems that 2 mins exposure is the right time for this comet.
I need to push my equipment if I get another go at it.
kind regards, Alan.

Certainly one of the best images I have seen of this comet Phil. Cracking detail in the tail and very nicely rendered. The animation is excellent too.

Thanks Justin. Wish I could have got more hours on it!
Thanks Peter. I know you don't use those words lightly. I've learnt a lot the last few days but could easily spend hours more re-crunching the data!
Thanks Ivan, Paul, Alan, dvj, blink, algwat.. appreciate the comments. very encouraging and i am very happy with the results. certainly my best comet imaging and i enjoy looking at it on screen too :D

Terrific shot Phil. That's a ripper.
First time I have seen an animation of a comet showing the tail moving away from the comet. Superb.

Late to the party on this one here, but as mentioned before- absolutely brilliant Phil! Wouldn't surprise me in the least if these win scientific animation AND solar system this year. Certainly in the top two or three images of Lovejoy I have seen.
