Try Acrobat Pro
Not all documents are public - so some you can edit and some you cant !

Windows or Mac OS X?
On the Mac you could use PDFpen, it edits anything, even scanned documents.
Cheers
Steffen.
Hey guys,
thanks for the replies Steffen and Rally.
Rally, I was looking for a free solution if possible, and Steffen, I have a PC running Windows XP and Windows 7 (2 different PCs) rather than a Mac. Thanks though :)

That might help. I haven't used any of them, though.
Thanks buddy, that looks like it might be exactly what I'm looking for, much appreciated :)

We've used nitro pdf in the past for digitally signing documents for client submission. You can download a free version with limited functionality. It will allow you to open a file, edit and save or save as.
Hey Stewart,
Thanks for the tip, - I'll give it a try :)
Hi Paul,
I use the app "Adobe reader" ( from Adobe ) It allows me to read all pdf files, It also has a feature that allows you to Sign a pdf document, also it allows you to turn a Word doc into a pdf doc and visa versa.
Its a great app that I always use.

Hi Ian,
thanks for the information buddy. Naturally, I have and do use AR whenever I read a pdf, but in this instance I needed to edit the contents and re-save it.
That was why I needed something with a little bit more capability. The other guys suggested the Nitro Reader product which initially looked hopeful.
However, when I open a pdf with it and try to edit, I get re-directed to the 'buy nitro-pro' website where they want $159 for the full product.
Hmmm...

Paul -do you want to annotate or make circles/highlighting -or do you need to add/edit/delete text?
you can find acrobat 8 software keys/download .exe free online -it doesnt have some newer features but it will manage most things
Hi Daniel,
Thanks for responding.
I need to edit some of the text and then re-save the document to a new name.
If that sounds like what your solution is aimed at, then please do explain further - but please try to keep it simple :)
