The Vimeo movies recently posted by others are more beautiful. However, this is a fun video to watch once or twice for its scientific value.

The the tail structure of this comet changes rapidly from one hour to the next. Sometimes, I even have a sense of the multiple jets rotating, possibly due to rotation of the source regions on the nucleus.

Here is a new 19-second YouTube video of Comet Lovejoy built from 191 luminance exposures of 60 seconds each recorded during 22:06 EST, 29th December to 01:54 EST, 30th December 2014.

The video reveals a wealth of ion tail structure sweept away from the nucleus by the solar wind. Note the passage of the ion tail across the faint edge-on spiral galaxy NGC 1886.

Beautiful sequence. The movie sure shows the dynamic side of a comet's life.
