Hi all!

A full 360 deg panorama of the summer milky way from Little beach and waterfall beach, near two peoples bay, Albany. A decent amount of work involved with this one. The sky was tracked on an Ioptron sky tracker for 2.5 min, while the land was exposed separately for 2.5 min un-tracked. They were later blended in post processing. Not the best job in blending, but I'm learning all the time.

Details: Canon 5d mkll with a Samyang 14mm lens @f2.8, at ISO 3200. One dark frame subtracted from every image.

Higher resolution: http://astrob.in/full/143419/0/

Thanks for looking.

That's great Joshua  I love how you can see the large nebulae in the Milky Way.

A great location.

Nice picture !

But when you make a Fisheye projection, the constellations get less distorted. Canopus looks very far from Orion which is not the case in reality. And Orion is also rather distorted.

Did you try Hugin ? It is a great stitching app and free as well ! It stitches Samyang 14 frames (made on a fullframe) very well.

Thankyou John and Chris!

Thanks Peter, absolutely, go for it :D

Thanks for the suggestion Skysurfer. I didnt try Hugin, maybe i will. This was Done in PTGui. Fisheye has less distortion for sure.
