Here's another widefield shot with the 350d piggy back on the 8" GSO using the 18-55mm lense. taken at 18mm. If only the electric cables arent in the way :P . You can see the top end of my scope too.

4 x 2 minutes subs. Taken at different iso settings 400 & 800.

I noticed the top right hand and bottom left hand are not even? is this vignetting?

It's got great potential Eric.
If you've captured this frame in RAW then there is a lot of detail to be brought out.
I had a play but obviously I'm only working with a very low res copy and it's not by any means perfect.
Just wanted to show you that with the right processing you can gleen detail from your data.

Keep up the great work Eric.

nice processing andrew. did you just lowered the green channel? and whats the difference between raw mode and large/fine mode?

No Eric, it's not as simple as adjusting the green channel.
There was actually quite a fair bit of work involved to get it to look like that.

RAW mode is the ultimate mode to work with since you have the most control over your image.
Here's a quick link (http://www.naturalphotographic.com/section41790_4709.html)on RAW mode.

If you google RAW and DSLR you should find heaps of info on the subject.

Howdy Eric, the darkening could be a mix of vignetting and also darkening due to atmospheric extinction. I dont think its vignetting alone as it isnt perfectly even in all 4 corners.
