Good one Pat!
Care to inform us of exposure info and how processed?
Cheers,
Bruce.

Nice one Pat! DSS does leave some streaking in the blending process.

thanks guys
kevin is the streaking normal then for dss?
yes bruce, finding the comet caught me by surprise as i had never before done the "coordinates" section in my hand controller so i did not even set a guiding sequence up
so i ended up stacking 60 20 second exposures at iso 2000 unguided
i will set my guider up tonight and do longer subs and a lower iso
i am going to try and and train the phd on the comet and see what happens
the stacking was a pain the arse, i had to go through every sub in dss and "cross hair" every nucleus!
bruce just check a little further down to my other post "fix my comet please!" as someone has provided a link on how to stack comets in dss
regards
pat

Yes, DSS does a bit of a slack job at dual stacks. But then so do I, even when I follow the destructions on how to do it manually. So I dunno. I'll figure it out one year maybe.

Over on CN someone mentioned a shortcut to comet stacks where the first and last files are selected and DSS auto does the rest, but there must be an "any" key button or something needed it make it work and I don't know what it is. If you discover it let me know cos selecting dozens of files manually is a pain.

also kevin i found that it was impossible to put the crosshair on the exact centre of the nucleus for a lot of them, there was not enough sensitivity on the arrow buttons on the laptop?
the first and last makes a lot of sense............. i manually done 60 of them last night and i found it rather therapeutic ha ha! masochist!!
what do you think about training phd on the comet itself?
