With the weather finally starting to improve in Melbourne, I decided to revisit the Orion Nebula last night. This image is the result of 3 hours worth of 10 minute subs.

This was also an opportunity to try out a new filter, having switched from a Baader UHC-S to an Astronomik CLS (T-Thread version). Although the transmission profiles of the two filters are similar, the CLS appears to be the better choice for my particular setup.

Quite a dramatic M42 there Eden, I like the orientation too, not your standard framing. The detail in the outer regions is really good but the side effects of the sharpening is a little obvious.
