Losmandy OPWB on DEC issue?

Just after some quick advice guys. I recently put a One Piece Worm Block on the DEC axis on my G11. The result was poor guiding in DEC and a LOT of play in the axis, maybe twice as much as I have in the RA. Problem is I cannot get the worm mesh any tighter, and I think it's affecting my guiding?

I put the old block back in, and I'm going to do some tests tonight. I haven't tried swapping the old and new OPWB's to see if they are different in some way

Anyone else experienced anything like this?

Are you sure it is a mesh problem? Some OPWB have a bit of lateral play and the DEC backlash may be caused by the worm moving back & forth in the block. Just watch the coupler end of the worm as you wiggle the DEC axis.

Hi Charles, I didn't think of that....Definitely something to check out. I don't recall there being any movement there tough? I'll investigate, but I put the old block back in last night and there is virtually no play.
