I have seen this big nebula in some nightscapes so I thought I'd have a go with my wide field setup. Apparently its called the Meissa Ring Nebula, Meissa being the brightest of the 3 stars bright stars in the middle.
Taken last night with the cooled 350D and 85mm lens, 28x 5 minute subs at ISO 400.
Check out the proper size image Here. (http://astrob.in/full/141518/B/)

Thank you very much Rick and Justin! Glad you liked it.
I have been working on getting a picture of the Vela SNR and have been able to get this so far with 3 hours, pretty happy so will devote a few more nights to it I reckon and see how it comes. It is a challenge to get anything at all with an un modded camera shooting at f5.6!

Tough one Jo!
Good work.:)
I've been working on the exact same image.
Hope you don't mind I'll post it here.
I'm amazed what's come out considering the unmodded camera and kit zoom lens I'm using.
Cheers,
Justin.

Wow that is so impressive Justin! Way better than mine, what f stop, ISO and sub length are you using? I am hoping to image it again tonight at F4 and see if I can get a bit more data coming through. Can you post a pic of a single sub? Here is one of mine.
Cheers
