I was able to capture a few hours of Comet Lovejoy on Tuesday night, wasn't sure what to expect as it was only a little green blob on the camera but it turned out not to bad.

This was the first image taken using my new cooling setup on my 350d, really happy with how it's working.

58x 4 minute subs at ISO 800 with the Canon 350d and 85mm lens.

There seems to be a big gas cloud on the lower left that I didn't know about, will have to image this area again sometime and see what it is.

Check out the larger Here. (http://astrob.in/141324/B/)

Cheers

Hi Jo,
You can try to enhance the comet by using masked stretching (PI), my try is probably not the perfect one, but it may give you some ideas ..

Nice work Jo!

Must try a wide shot too, that tail extends further than I thought.

Cheers,

Justin.

Thanks Ian, that looks great. I have only got Nebulosity, StarTools and Aperture so hopefully will be able to do something with them.

Thanks a lot David!

Thanks Justin, yes the tail is getting pretty decently long, a bit long for my scope. Looking forward to seeing what you capture.

Cheers
Jo
