Hello/morning

just finished taking and processing this. one single shot (for some reason the MANY othewr shots i took at shorter exposure turned out not so great...

20 min autoguided with ok-ish result is a record for me.

This target is not as easy to image as I first thought...you should have seen my raw files...they look nothing special.

This is 1 of my single Raw files looks like at 4 minutes of the helix.....but times that by 20 exposures stacked.

Hi Guys,
thanks for the feedback.
I've had a couple hours of sleep not so I'm back to my abnormal self again...
Houghy: the other ones were a series of 8 minutes shots and a series of 10 minutes shots.
Tony: thanks for sample, actually that helps a lot because most of my other shots look similar to that, there may be hope in them yet. I'll try to process them a bit better and see if I can select and stack a few. I'm afraid I probably wasnt doing the processing at 100% last night/this morning cuz I was so tired but I was sooo keen to have a look!
I'll be away a couple of days too so wont be able to reply but will be back Sunday me thinks.
I'll try to repost Monday (possibly Sunday) if I can process the other images.
I've experimented last night with all my shots being without "in-camera" noise reduction so i could get more and then try my hand at subtracting a dark frame (i've taken a dark at end of each series to match temperature and iso/duration of exposure.

that was the only long frame I shot (a record exposure time for me)
I think I'll be targetting M42, Flame and Horsehead this month mostly
