Field boxes

Hey everyone :)

I was wondering what people usually toted their things around in when going on field trips. I have, in my really short time in the hobby, already collected a small pile of things that I'd really have to remember to bring along.

I went down to the local Bunnings and bought a cheap aluminium case and fiddled a bit with it. I now have my little 18AH battery (does a whole night of viewing, and will then recharge overnight from 240v inverter off our isolated auxilliary car battery) hidden away, with it being able to be charged and plugged-into by two scew-in 12v plugs on the outside of the case. A simple and neat little afternoon project :)

Nice box.... I only just decided the other day to make something similar - love the idea of the socket on the box! At the moment I use an aluminium box from Supa-Cheap as an eyepiece box, and have a marine ply case for the 8" Dob OTA (homemade) - need something for all the bits and pieces, as they do build up fast.....

I am very impressed, I currently use two plastic file carrying containers which are doing well but I have just about filled them to capacity, you have given me food for thought.

I dont have too much to carry around in comparison to other people's setups, but as is the nature of this hobby the accessory collection tends to grow.
I have nothing serious on the drawing board yet.I've been rummaging around the net and getting ideas for a "all in one" setup to carry the scope and accessories and then fit into the back of the ute.
