Hi,

A section of the LMC, two panel mosaic.
I wanted to do this after seeing Paul Haese's amazing narrow band image.
http://www.iceinspace.com.au/forum/attachment_browse.php?a=172905

Anyway, this is what it looks like from a bog standard Canon 1100D.

I've supplied a labelled image and wide field for reference of these nebula.
8" F/4 astrograph HEQ pro 5 mount. Orion mini guider.

Unmodded canon 1100D, baader type III coma corrector.

2 x 7 x 8 minute subs, ISO 1600 stitched in ICE . Stacked in DSS, processed in PS Cs2.
Image cropped.
Cheers,

Justin.

I love this region, so many interesting and unusual targets.

Pretty cool when you think about it, you've captured a nebula in another galaxy:eye pop:

Well done

Thanks Rick!

It's fun to image with the DSLR but CCD's do a much better job on LMC nebulae.

Thanks Andy!

It's great to have the LMC and SMC, leaves no gaps in the imaging calendar.:)

Cheers,

Justin.
