So tomorrow will mark my first anniversary. I bought the SW Heritage 130p exactly a year ago tomorrow.
I had a huge passion, but didn't know much! I have learned a lot thanks to you guys (and gals of course). Thank you!
I am still a beginner of course, but the journey is exciting!

Of course for a grumpy perfectionist there are also disappointments - clouds, not 100% perfect collimation, and worst of all scratches! But the positive aspects definitely outweigh the negative ones!

The refractor joined my family in September. I love them both (the dob and the refractor), even if they are not as good as the scopes many of you have.

I do hope I will have a really good scope one day, but for that I also need location, view and something better than the balcony I have now.
My next kid will probably be the NexStar 8". Sometimes I wonder if I could keep it downstairs in the garage for quick use in the common front yard? It would be difficult though to work in peace there in the middle of the night, lol.

Anyway, it is the most exciting journey I have ever started!:thanx::thumbsup:

:thumbsup:Great story and thanks for sharing .
On the shared front lawn , I see that as a bonus as you can show others the wonders of the night sky there , I do this all the time and its most satisfying .
Keep up the good work and here's to another year or 5 .:D.

Oh yes an 8inch SE would be a great scope that will last you for many years , great scope to be aiming for .

Brian.

Thank you, Brian! Once I was at the beach with my scope and there were indeed many people who seemed to be interested! :)

I'm glad you're having fun! To last a year in this hobby is a good achievement.

Thank you! After the 3rd eclipse I could not watch because of 100% cloud coverage I was almost thinking of quitting, but then I decided to stay, hoping the clouds gods would have some mercy one day. I did have fun on other days though. :)
