August challenge - the ones that got away!

Here are some of the other subjects I tried. The candle flame was augmented by a few drops of meths – WARNING: kids, don’t try this at home!

I shot these in the garage, in the dark with the subject matter on an aluminium sheet using a 35mm slide projector for side on illumination.

The candle flame was augmented by carefully dripping drops of methylated spirits onto the flame, using 4 sec exposures. Here is a plain shot of the (then intact) candle.

The tomatoes are on top of my light box used for taking flats at the telescope! A 20 sec exposure that required darks to be subtracted – sheesh, what a nerd! :camera:

Great pics Dennis. It was so hard to choose wasn't it? I do love the flame, cool idea.

These are a few I was toying with. I still like this bee image (it's a great desktop) and the red hands (rather hard to clean up :-) but he had fun!). The one I ended up entering just had a wow factor I didn't think was in these.

But who know what everyone will like. This has been fun to do this month. I wish I'd looked down the forum page when I first joined but I doubt I would have had time before the Astrofest this year. The photo from there was taken from the hession fence. As you can see there is a lot of red light comming from the laptops!
