It's EP 7. Jumped to future after Return of the Jedi

Yes, so why TIE fighters, post-Empire?

My Son mentioned that the original cast members will be in it. Harrison Ford, Mark Hamill and Carrie Fischer.

Tie Fighters were part of Star Wars 6 though, seem logical they are in 7.

How awesome. Its been a long time. Lets hope they don't totally rely on CGI like the last 3 prequels which had relatively weak plots and acting and mostly special effects.

Yeah, sometime with some many threads it is the title makes the difference in finding the appropriate thread. Didn't see it. How did the threads get joined together. That is really interesting. Should be done more often.

Just a quick pm to the moderators via the report link and they link the duplicate threads. I have duplicated threads a couple of times, so others that have their thread linked to another same topic thread shouldn't take it personally.

On this topic the JJ Abrams instalment looks promising although this teaser is rather short to judge Episode 7 potential to be a great movie, but I do like what I have seen so far. I am looking for that same excitement and experience I had when I was thirteen back in 1977 when I saw Star Wars Episode 1 on the big screen......21 times

Well the Emporer and Darth are gone at the end of ROTJ, and the new Deathstar is gone, but that still leaves a rather large Imperial Fleet and a huge infrastructure...

Can you believe they've already made a heap of Lego versions of the trailer? Some pretty good:

CGI looks a few leaps and bounds ahead of the last movies.
Thoughts on the black stormtrooper?
Has Disney ignored the fact all stormtroopers are clones of Jengo Fet who happened to be a Mauri?

Maori ... Mauri's are another group entirely

I think to be realistic once the Jedi's found out the process halted, maybe evolved into recruiting instead of cloning.

Pretty the cloners will sue for uniform copyright though :)

wasn't really blown away by the teaser to be honest. it looks alright. shabby robot rolling along the ground reminds me of a jar jar moment for whatever reason. of the prequels I only enjoyed number 3.

also how about using your spaceships actually in space rather than 5 metres above water or sand? there's a whole universe above them but I guess that doesn't look as cool. i'm tipping the guy at the start isn't a stormtrooper at all - despite the uniform.

am excited by benedict cumberbatch (however you spell it) he makes a terrific baddy. loved him as Khan, awesome delivery of lines. not so fond of the lightsaber.

antigravity fields is the only way any of these craft can fly from the ground into space. Nothing changed there. But I hope his shields were off?
Lightsaber and the rolling droid = too much. Yes jar jaresque

I'm going with rebel in stormtrooper suit.

No reason the empire would move from brainless clones to normal people with thoughts of self preservation.

Awesome, thank you Jarrod.

I am wondering, whether Star Wars are as much inspirational and influential for younger generations now as they were in 'good old days'...

Made it my desktop wall paper straight away. :D

No worries.

I don't know, it's a good question. With some of the older kids they were raised on episodes 1-3 first and just from a couple of conversations they didn't latch on to it as much.

We intend on giving our kids their first viewing very soon so I can report back on whether they like it or not.

The best thing about episode 7 is that George Lucas will have absolutely nothing to do with it.

Rod771
21-04-2015, 07:28 PM
So your forgetting he made episode 4, 5 and 6?

clive milne

No...
But I cannot forget Ja Ja Binks, nor 'Kingdom of the Crystal Skull'

Rod771

Then you could have said - The best thing about episode 7 is it wont have Ja Ja Binks or Shia LaBeouf in it.

The biggest reason movie/sci fi forums are currently in melt down and movie goers are wetting their pants in anticipation, is because this December, we are going to be reunited with the beloved characters George Lucas gave us in 1977.

I don't understand George Lucas bashing, its daft and a fallacy .

HA!
Why not give credit where it is due?
For 'A New Hope' that would be George Lucas' ghost writer; Alan Dean Foster (who you can also thank for 'Alien')

As for 'The Empire Strikes Back'; it was directed by Irvin Kershner, produced by Gary Kurtz, and written by Leigh Brackett and Lawrence Kasdan.
Episode 6 was written by George and Leigh. Here you can see George's influence writing in lame elements that add nothing to the story line, they simply serve as a means of extracting cash from your wallet via merchandising ... Ewoks etc)
Episodes 1,2 & 3 are a true reflection of George's talent.
They are fecal matter.

The Kaminoans resented the military occupation and formed a rebel clone army and rose up against the empire them forcing the empire to recruit from the rest of the military for the stormtrooper corps which became more of an expeditionary force like the marines.

This all occurred in the expanded universe.
