Impressive specs. Big pixel size though. Rules out widefields. :P

Yes, no doubt.

Incidentally, the chip is by e2v and is a deep depletion sensor. FLI offer cameras with small chips by this manufacturer that run around the $40k mark.
It is also available in a larger format (130mm diagonal).

Princeton Instruments also do a few cameras with low read out noise levels (>3e-)

I suppose it would be ideal on something like a field corrected 24" RC.
