Hi,

Have spend the past couple of imaging sessions trying to tame my OAG, CC spacing, tilt and exposure length. here's a quick 1 hour total of Tarantula. I shortened the subs to 2 mins which seems to have eliminated a lot of background opaqueness I was getting from longer subs, although when I turned to HH later 2 mins was too much (facing more suburbia). I really need to get a light pollution filter.

Anyway, fairly happy with this, I definitely have less tilt / wonky stars so need to be more careful with getting the OAG stalk at the right length.

I couldn't get the flats to register properly so i'll try a reprocess later. I can probably squeeze a bit more out of the neb. that core is hard to tame! I may have gone overboard on the high pass too.

Awesome. I like the colours and stars are pretty good too.

P.S.It seems to me that a field flattener could help to get round stars all the way to the corners.

thanks Slawomir, you should have seen the stars beforehand!

Hi kevin - yep with the 12" f4

have tried a few other reprocesses to bring more out (i always go too far), but am really battling to balance it with the core and to make it more natural looking.. having the same problem on the HH too at the moment.

reprocess - core needs fixing; am thinking i prefer the less red original.

thanks Marc the star shapes is one thing i've been working on improving

Thanks Rex, think i'm making some progress so that's something! think i'll have another reprocess for this and the HH too, the problem was i cropped and rotated the images slightly so trying to merge in photoshop is near impossible. Note to self save as before cropping! especially in high dynamic scenes!

Cheers

That's very good Russ! Tiny stars and the colour is spot on.
