Yep, big night (early morning) for the east coast. Occultation of Uranus first up then the partial lunar eclipse. Looks like a slow day at work on friday:rolleyes: .
It's a shame we'll miss the end of the eclipse, but I guess there's really not much else to see after the umbral egress is over.
WA enjoy:) .

At moonset? Ah geez that writes me off then - I can't see much in the west.
Might have to go on a field trip.

We were fortunate enough to have clear skies. But windy, very windy.
Jack got up to watch the event as well.
I took some pics with the video camera, but the ep kept on getting full of dust and stuff leaving some of the images rather spotty.
They're not much but here they are.:)

Nice results guys. On the way to work, the clouds parted for a brief moment (literally, 1 second) and I saw the bite out of the moon. That was my eclipse experience.

Why don't you pop your photo over to the Solar System photos for all to see.
It was a memorable event hey.

Hi Guys
Well done to all who braved the wee hours of the morning and especially the gale force winds in Brisbane. The Moon began to set behind our roof top around 3:00am, so I rushed upstairs into the study and poked the WO 80mm out the window on a tripod with Pentax *ist DS attached. It was a bit clumsy, but I managed to grab an image every minute for 60 minutes, so will try to make an animated gif later today.
Yawn.
Dennis
I got up to let the pups out at about 3.30 - clouded over.... so I was pleasantly surprised when my eclipse alarm went off at 4.45 and it was clear in the west..... Beautiful..... better than last years IIRC....

Wow very nice shot Glen.. hope you don't mind, I ran it through Noiseware and resized it. Very pretty shot, I wish I had a west horizon like that!

Nice shots from everyone posting pics. We had strong winds, almost horizontal rain, cloud (usually comes with rain), and no power. Definitely not good weather for an eclipse!
Roger.
