Ring Nebula and friends

Hello to everyone,

This is my first post even though signed up for a little while. Last night I had my first view of M57 The Ring Nebula. Beautiful, through the 10mm and with averted vision clearly saw the central hole. Followed this with the Helix NGC7293 (a bit faint but nice) and The Sculptor Galaxy NGC253, quite clear and a wonderful sight through the 25mm. I think there was even signs of the dust lanes. After all these wonderfuls I could not resist a final look at 47 Tuc before retirering to a hot mug of tea.
Well thats it for now. I shall make sure a few more posts come from over here to hold up our side of the country.

Hello Wade, Nice report. If you get a chance have a look at Ngc 55 it's another lovely galaxy in Sculptor. :)

Thanks for the advice. Briefly went outside just now and found NGC55 (very nice and fairly bright with a hint of the central bulge slightly to one side if my eyes are not playing tricks) and NGC300 very faint but easily found. Mostly just the central area seen. Also had another look at NGC253. Nice.

You bagged some really nice ones there Wade.
If you stayed up a little longer you could have added the Andromeda Galaxy to your log. That is a beautiful sight to behold.
