Just been put on standby with the RFS for possible Strike Team deployment in the state if things turn to custard today.

At the moment it's just a pre-emptive measure but some areas are expecting temps up to 45ºc and 80kph winds.

Lets hope it's a nice quiet day.

Take care everyone :)

I hope that all remains quiet for you.
I've been a firefighter and it was never a comfortable feeling when in front of the flames.
Take care Ric

Hi Ric,:)

Here's hoping too, for a quiet one. I was involved with bushfires during my military service.
Its hard work and very uncomfortable both physically and psychologically. As Jenny mentioned.

Take care Ric

One with RFS "out of control", "uncontained" status has broken out
in the Blue Mountains at Warrimoo, which is between Blaxland and
Springwood on the Great Western Highway.

It is reported as 2ha in size and firefighters and aircraft are working on it.

36.5C as at 2:30pm at the BOM station at Terry Hills.

Hey Ric,
Which brigade are you in?
We just deployed a strike team to the blue mountains and should be sending another one to QLD.

Hi Hobbit

I'm with the Wamboin RFS in the Lake George zone

Stay safe at the Warimoo Fire and watch out for that change in wind.

I wish you a safe summer guys.
My last forays into fire control were with the Yarrowlumla Bush Fire Brigade 30 years ago. (March 1985 fires )
