Hi,

Here's some Photo shop trickery to bring out HA regions while leaving the cyans in this 4 panel mosaic with an unmodded Canon 1100D.
I think it's all in the right spots.
Anyway it was good fun to do, chipped away at over the past month.

7 x 8 minute subs per panel, at ISO 1600, 4panels at f/6 220mm standard 80 to 300mm kit lens.
Stacked in Deep Sky Stacker .Processed in PS Cs2.

Cheers,

Justin.

I can't see the trickery so good job! I remember when I first moved here 34 years ago I could see the LMC easy by eye, now I can barely see it and it's not just my eyes.

Nicely composed wide field Justin. And; it looks like everyone is doing this region at the moment. Well not everyone but it is a popular area.

Hi Justin,
Very nice,
I wonder what it would look like if you split the channels -
then swapped blue & red - then recombined?

cheers

Thanks Laurie!

Thanks Hugh!

What really intrigues me is the different colours you get in the LMC compared to our own galactic nebula.
I wonder if someone has an explanation???

Thanks Kevin!

Light pollution sucks!!

Thanks Paul!

Yep, I've been following your LMC nebula images, great colour and resolution.
I've a two panel mosaic of the same area which I'll post later.

Thanks Dunk!

Thanks Louie!

Thanks Rick!

I must admit mosaics are a lot easier now with programmes like ICE, don't know if I would have the patience to do it Photo shop.

Thanks Allan!

That's a good idea!
Must try that out, wonder if anyone else has done that:question:

Great looking wide photo Justin.

Nice colours and details.

Your "magic tricks" are producing better and better looking photos.

Yes - you might not need the
"Photo shop trickery to bring out HA regions" if you do that.
I've seen it done before on the LMC with DSLR data.
I think there is something about the Bayer matrix on a DSLR that causes problems with colours on the LMC & SMC.

Hmm? missed commenting on this one  This is a very nice capture Justin, quite balanced and enough field to show many of the interesting LMC tid bits many people (including myself) are shooting this time of year
