Hi all

A couple of Galaxies from last night. Not the greatest of conditions, 3.5 degrees C, humidity was 100%, a ground fog was present and causing havoc with my guidestars other than that was clear and calm.

NGC 55: 11 x 300 seconds at ISO 800 - cropped

NGC 253: 8 x 300 seconds at ISO 800 - cropped

Takahashi FS-102 at prime focus, Unmodded Canon 350D, no filters.

Guiding using a SW ED80 mounted on a TGAD, ST-4 autoguider.

Auto processed in ImagesPlus 2.75, usual Darks, Flats and Bias, slight work in PS 7.01.

Cheers

Very nice images John, I observed both from a dark site last night. Ngc 55 is a gem, we took advantage of good conditions to hunt down some brighter galaxies. :)

Very nice images, John, especially NGC253. Just starting some deep sky photography with my FS-102. Can you tell me what the TGAD is?

Thank's to everyone for their kind comments.

Rigel003

I mount my Tak on a Casady Tandem Bar with a 12" saddle, the guidescope is mounted on a Casady Tandem Guidescope Aiming Device (TGAD) which I have found to be far superior to Guidescope Rings.

I have attached a picture so you can get an idea how it works on the Losmandy G-11.

Lovely shots again, John. I really do like the colour of your shots as they appear to be so natural when compared to what is seen at the eyepiece. Guess I don't like the modded shots whith lots of red in them. Your tracking is superb and I'm still an admirer of what you produce. You must set out some of your processing tips for the rest of us.
Regards, Allan.
