Hi all,

I have discovered deconvolution and some wonderful selection processes to stretch images.

Attached is about 15 hours of NB (Ha, OIII and SII)

30 minute subs.

ED80 with Barlow on Atik 11000m on AZEQ6.

Thanks for looking

That's an interesting rendition.

What are the streaks from on the left?

That is a column of dead pixels on the sensor.
Because it is a Class 2 sensor, and not a class 1 or 0 sensor which have fewer or zero defects respectively, and because I couldn't afford an extra $2000 for a better sensor class, you must expect to have those kinds of marks. It just happens that the defects are in the centre of the sensor!!!
Does anyone out there have any suggestions as to how to remove those artifacts in processing? Approximately 30 darks have been applied in DSS.

I dunno Scott, I found this for Kodak sensors. There shouldn't be column defects on a class 2.

Hi Scott, very different colour pallette, makes for a very arty look. As for the streaks if you dither your mount in between subs the streaks should be automatically removed when stacking, through outlier rejection. Hope that helps.

hi scott,

zoom in and do a rectangular selection over the streaks (one at a time) apply Gaussian blur to the selection. work your way up so that the minimum blur is required to blend the streaks away.

cheers,
