Striped Eye Blowfly.

Order Diptera; Family Calliphoridae; Species unknown? Stomorhina sp. No 2 (Lesueur NP)?

Further attempts at macro in natural light. This time increasing EV to 1 to compensate for the extension tube 'tunnel'.

That's pretty Cool Row, can you tell me what kit you used for that shot?

Could also be known as the Ronchi Eye Fly.

And possibly astigmatic :D

Thanks Graham. Nikkor 60mm Micro with Nikon - Canon and Canon to Fuji X adapters ~20mm extension.

Chris. I didn't get its name but I recall it might be Stephano. I would suggest that any out of focus is due to the photographer's own astigmatism.:D

Awesome pic Rowland.
Why not upload it to Atlas of Living Australia?
It would be a new record.

Thanks Martin. I hadn't thought of it. Must have a look at the site.

EDIT: signed up and recorded my first sighting. Great idea - Citizen scientist!
