Fujinon BFL 8x42

Very light, exceptionally comfortable binocular. You have to feel it in your hands to appreciate how comfortable this bino is.
With 42mm aperture, 6.5 degree AFOV, and a steady hand-held 8x magnification yielding a versatile 5.25mm exit pupil, this binocular is ideal for stargazing and as a finder.
Coatings are second to none with very high transmission. Many galaxies are easily spotted under dark skies, e.g., M83, NGC 5128, 253, 55. Dust lane in NGC 5128 is visible under good skies.
Comes with carry case, instruction manual, and all original packaging and purchase receipt.
Sells new for $340. Bought in Sept 2005 from York Optical for special price of $300, just after the model was released in Australia.
Perfect condition.
Made in Japan.
Fujinon lifetime warranty.

$230 including regular postage in Australia. - or make me an offer via PM (http://www.iceinspace.com.au/forum/private.php)

Surprisingly I had zero interest in this binocular so far.

Perhaps I should make it clear that I am not selling this bino because I don't like it. I think it's about the best handheld bino you can get. (But my experience does end at around the $1000 mark.) I am regretfully selling to fund another purchase. Meanwhile I will use my old pair of star-party Pentax 8x40 and put up with the painfully short eye relief and inferior contrast. :( Something had to give.

I am open to offers on the Fujinon via PM (http://www.iceinspace.com.au/forum/private.php).

Two weeks ago I would have jumped at the chance to buy these, but I have just bought JB's pentax binos.

I have had a quick view through Steves binos and was very impressed with the view and their light weight (from memory much lighter than the pentaxs I bought).
