A shot of the Moon from last night through my Bintel 6" F/5 Newtonian reflector. 1/160th of a second exposure. Processing in Adobe Photo Raw and Photoshop.

I really did it just to see what an image would be like without a coma corrector. Answer - okay but not brilliant.

I'm kind of regretting buying this scope now. I should have saved my money and bought an 8" instead. Oh well. Maybe I'll just shift it on?

I have a 6" F5. But it's a Meade. It's an "okay" scope too. I didn't know Bintel sold 6" OTA's? I would like an 8" F4 OTA. I should have one by now but something went wrong. I'd also like a GSO RC8.

Don't get me wrong Kevin, I think the scope itself is excellent but you have to live with the coma until you modify the light cone in some way. Oh well...

Yeah, all Newts faster than F6 need a coma corrector for photographic use. Expensive little item though. Which one are you going to get, the GSO or Baader?

Probably the GSO. It seems to work okay at F/4 which is where I'll be aiming to go once I can afford it (and possibly a beefier mounting too) and it's cheaper than the MPCC Mk3. That said, if I can get an MPCC Mk3 at a decent price then I'll take it - supposedly works well down to F/3.5.
