Could not wait to show you all this shot. I have many other avis, which are better than this one. This is just a rough put together at 3 am in the morning. Seeing tonight was nearly 9/10. I looked first through my new nagler at 833x and festoons, barges were visible in the eq band. I quickly set up the toucam, did not worry about focusing on a star. The planet was not moving at all on the screen, I just focused until I could see the festooning and then started imaging. 27 Avi's later Jupiter went behind my neighbours tree.
This shot is just a taste of what I will have for you in the next week. Even imaging at 640 resolution the festooning was visible. Finally got some seeing to rave about. Weather goods have been kind for a change, New EP's and not a cloud to be seen.
Anyway to the image. This is just rough, final touches not completed, but my best by miles.
Comments?

Mike, no just missed the GRS by 1 hour, so sorry only got the boring side of Jupiter.
Ving I have been waiting for 8 months for that sort of seeing. Just keep waiting it will happen for you.
Mick, at one stage I had the 5x power mate in and the 20mm Meade in and I could clearly see the bands and festooning. That was at 625x, I used the Nagler with the 3x televue barlow and that was even better at 833x. The televue EPs and equipment are really worth the money.
I am so stoked about last night, I feel on top of the world after 6 hours sleep. This is an amazing hobby and after 32 years it still catches me by surprise. I will process more avis during the weekend and over the next week, see what I can get to you all.
Thanks chaps.

:2thumbs: Way to go Paul. It's obvious that there is still a lot of detail in there that can be pulled out. Can't wait for the rest of them. Maybe you could put an animated gif together of all the ones you've taken.
Did you clean your ToUcam as you said you were going to? It looks like there is a dust mote on the lower half of the bottom hemisphere near the center.

no I mean it!
who do you want dead :P

Paul I cleaned the toucam but still some dust persists. I have really good eyesight and can only just make them out. Lots of processing to do and maybe could make a gif. I would have to learn how to do this first. Getting more detail out is the question. I have looked through some of the frames of one or two avi's and cannot find any really blurry frames. So I don't know if I can get more out of them.
I will try and see what happens.
