Good to see a few folk from the Nhill star party hanging around here, hieeeee...

I went up for just 2 nights, Sat that was amazing, my smoothest guiding run ever, and Sun that was amazing for its sound and light show (courtesy of the thunder and lightning, no imaging alas).

Here's my first image of 2, being a shot of the Tarantula Neb and nearby LMC objects. The second link is to the annotated PI image, lots of interesting objects nearby.

What a pain this was to process, 3 different exposures combined in Pixinsight's HDR tool. I know it ain't perfect, but is as good as I could do on the night.

21 by 1 minute subs, 20 by 5 min and 3 by 10 min, all @ my new favourite ISO of 400, star colours much better.

Really nice Simon, I recently imaged this same area, I had no end of trouble processing it with all those stars. You've done well mate.

That's a superb result Simon. 10 minute subs aye? Were they starting to fog up at all?

Thanks everyone.

NZ, yes the subs were getting on the bright side, but still effective.

Very nice Simon. One for a big print. Do you print these out at all?

Thanks again chaps. Kevin, no I only print the odd one out on bad paper for my son to take to school. But I might go by your suggestion and use a good printing service for the better pics. One day..
