Well what a hectic morning so far, I say so far it's only 2pm here but unless another X flare blows off I think I can relax a bit now.
The day started off as per normal and once the sun cleared the house I set up the reflector to catch AR2192 in white light and close up as I have been all week. Seeing was pretty stable too and I think I got a good catch with the X2 Barlow as well as without.
I then swapped scopes over to the PST mod and got a couple of good sets of AR2192 too. I don't know about the X2 Barlow with that as it kind of looks odd to me, maybe over sharpened?
Also taking Rogers advice about flats I tried that out for the first time, I must say that will become a regular feature in my imaging run now although it didn't work on the full disc shot.
In case anyone has missed it there is also a massive filament on the sun which normally would be getting more attention and with all these flares maybe we can hope for a dramatic lift off. Preferably it will wait until it reaches the edge though.
At this point I thought I was done and while I was waiting for something to process I checked the gong network and solarham to see another X flare in progress so I rushed to set up again for that and managed to get it with the PST mod and then again with the vanilla PST and DMK41 for a full disc.
So there you have it, a rather busy morning. I hope you enjoy as I had fun at least!
