Yep Duxford is awesome. Was there in '96. Easy to get to from london or Cambridge. Highlight was a flypast of the only flying Lanc with a escort of 4 Spits.
Low light was a fatal crash of a P38 which dropped out of a roll during a pass and hit the embankment of the M11 motorway.
The museum itself is very good and the static displays are worth a visit art any time.

Love old planes, HRH & I went to Duxford in June this year, fantastic experience....

oh that was fab ron!
me dad took me to farnsborough(?) in about 1970 but cant be sure of the year exactly, but i am sure i was typical of just about every young lad who's interests were space, aeroplanes and dinosaurs!

On this subject there are some excellent doco's on planes on youtube, I stumbled upon a story this morning on the British developed SR2 alsp the P38 Lightning, there are heaps more on Spitire, Hurricane, Mosquito etc.
