View Full Version here: : Sunspots!
Had a bit of a struggle with haze, heat and processing today but I got there in the end.
I think they turned out much better than I was anticipating.
Taken with a 6" f/8newt, full aperture Baader filter and ZWOASI120mm.

Very nice, we don't get much solar stuff in beginners' photography.

Hey, they are excellent. Especially that last one with it nice sense of depth with the horizon. Plenty of detail and granularity of the surface structure. Well done !

well done Jarrod- i see the seeing didnt make life easy. another hint is that if you do over a minute you also wont get much granularity as they change within that timeframe. I found that you dont get grains under 5/10 seeing - well thats my opinion anyway.

Strewth there's some detail there.
Thank you everyone!
Cheers.
That is true, it'd be good to see more solar stuff posted.
Thanks, I think that last one is my favourite as well.
Cheers David!
It wasn't the best that's for sure but it cut through it alright. I think you are right about the granulation, also increasing the focal length with a barlow can make it a bit harder.
Thankfully with the ASI120 the avis are not much longer than 30-45 seconds.
Thank you Kevin. :)
Nicely done Jarrod! Really nice detail and grain.
