Just a quick and dirty photoshop, single 170 sec ISO 800 f/10 2350mm, 5D MK III.

Failed polar alignment, didnt have time to get it right, so pick a guide star and be done with it lol.

Pretty happy with the result! Cant wait to do a proper stack, but mean motion of comet and mars too (didnt expect that at this FL, but makes sense i guess).

Made my own flat frame using a photoshop technique ive practiced and subtracted away the light pollution, which messed up mars a little but meh. Adjusted levels and exposure a touch and done

Nice work. It was a hard one to process.

thanks all! was in a good location, right in between Brisbane/Ipswich light pollution and clarity of the atmosphere was very good, just enough to capture comet without just ending up getting more light pollution lol. Im still not sure what im going to do to stack, Mars will end up being an ugly streak unless I limit total exposure time to around 180 seconds. I took a few at ISO 3200, 45 seconds, so I could stack 4 of those and that should work relatively nicely. Managed to grab darks and bias frames too, so will see how I go with DSS and a few other ideas I have in mind tonight. Field rotation was negligible over 180 seconds, so im glad i didnt waste any more time with PA

Just realised i posted as 90 second exposure, i was sleepy lol. it was 170 seconds @ ISO800, edited OP to reflect

That turned out very well.

Thankyou Kevin! I am in the middle of converting from RAW to DNG, and at the same time trying to figure out how to stack with alignment on the comet

and finally done, 90 second x 4 image stack using DSS and HDR toning in photoshop purely to preserve colour and minimially increase dynamic range, and also the same light pollution subtraction technique.
