Hi everyone,
Just introduced myself in the newbie section.
Wanted to share my first image with you all and hopefully get some feedback. I'm new to imaging as a whole, so any advice would be very much appreciated.
Setup is a William Optics FLT98 with a 450d on a HEQ5 mount.
169 subs x 30 sec at ISO 1600.
I can link a higher resolution photo if needed.
Cheers,
Bret
Hi Bret, and welcome to the forum. That's a really nice setup and a great first image. It's a steep learning curve, and your already well on your way. The only advice I have is keep at it and you will find as time goes on, both your imaging technique and processing skills will naturally improve. Other than that it's all about the ride. Sit back enjoy!

Thanks Peter. I had forgotten about the comet flyby tonight. Hopefully the clouds make way at the right time.

A shooting star that timed it's arrival nicely in one of my subs of the Lagoon Nebula.

Man that's a classy "first image". Nice going Bret. That FLT98 looks like a great scope.

Thanks Cam, appreciate it. I absolutely love the scope. Can't wait to take it to a decent dark site.

Thanks Jason! I was getting a bit lost in photoshop, so I ended up doing just about all the processing in deep sky stacker with one or two small tweaks in photoshop at the end. I think I prefer the simplicity of DSS for the time being until I figure out more of what can be achieved with the tools in photoshop.

Welcome Bret, You are off to a flying start with a first image like this. Always great to see another WO user around. I've been at it for about a year now and I still feel like i know hardly anything. But hey, you get some cool pix under your belt and it gives you heaps of drive to learn more and try more difficult stuff. Look forward to seeing more from you.
Bruce.
