When I place my hand on top of the mount I can feel a small amount of slop in the RA axis, not much but I can detect no slop in the Dec axis. This mount is less than one year old but gets used a fair bit and some long sessions imaging. I did not notice slop until about three weeks ago. I have searched online and found Astrobaby's advice and instruction on adjusting the set screw - but before I do anything I need to ask - how much slop is enough to justify an adjustment and does it really matter when weight is on the mount.?

If you set the counterweight to be heavy in the east it doesn't really matter if there is some play in the RA axis as it always drives in one direction.

I had a bit of slop on RA as well. It was only a little but noticeable enough to annoy me for visual. I followed the astrobaby guide to the word and it worked well.

TIP: Monitor the Amp draw to make sure you dont overtighten. The motor will work harder and draw more if its too tight.
