More H alpha with Berts lens

Hi all
Did the Omega and Eagle nebula region with Berts 300m f2.8 flourite lens last night
1st pic is both nebulae, 2nd one is orientated the other was so as to fit in the fainter RCW 160 and SH2-45 nebula areas
both 4x10 mins with idas uv/ir and Baader 7Nm Ha filter, hand guided.
Was going to get up and do Ha imaging of the LMC but clouds put paid to that.
Off to Taree to visit relos from Sat morning till tuesday, so no more imaging for a little while now.

Hello old friend,

Thanks for showing the images - I particulary like the "arrow-head" shaped dark nebula which has been on my todo list for some time. BTW well done on focus.

Just think, with Bert's wide field f2.8 lens and a digital camera like yours - it wouldn't be too hard for you to do a mosiac of something like the Milky Way in Scorpius and Sagittarius etc.

Howdy all, yes, the focus does change slightly, I have to move the ring a few mm to get sharp focus.
Yes I should try a mosaic of the milky way, must try that next time.
I only decided to do this arrowhead nebula after seeing it on a UKST Ha survey image.

More great shots with Berts lense..Scott :thumbsup: a mosaic would be a real stunner.. whos Bert maybe you can bring the lense around the weekend ;) , nice dark sky here!!! lol :D
