Certainly nothing very exciting from an image quality point of view (I'm no solar system photographer plus I only had a cheap lens and a tripod!), but it sure was a joy to witness such a great eclipse from Uluru

Nice!
Uluru (and The Olgas) are a pretty amazing experience at any time - have you been to the Sounds of Silence dinner?
Oh what a wonderful experience that would have been for you Marcus !
I bet it looked stunning.
Thanks for sharing it.

No, there were 4 of us and we couldn't justify spending the better part of $800 for dinner!:eyepop::screwy:
Yeah, it was a treat and it was great to see the night sky sparkle to life at mid eclipse!
Photos don't do the experience justice, that's for sure!

Never seen Ayers Rock.
Shots like this would be two or more exposures
1 for moon
1 or 2 for the rock
1 or 2 for the foreground
layered
nice though
Marcus, those are great shots, taken from one of the best places to be for something like that. Your site selection trumps all others I have seen for this event :D Do they let you into the park at night nowadays?

Absolutely! Wish I'd had the equipment to do it more justice!
Just 5 30 second exposures for the wide scene - stacked, used 1 30 second for the sky. Half second for totality. Enough to capture the memory at least! :)
Park closes at 20:00 and I stayed until 20:30 or so - very close to mid eclipse.
