Hey all,
A couple of pics from tonight. I took over 350 pictures but I think these are some of my better ones. (Taken in Darwin NT)
Does anyone have any advice

Great effort! The main thing is to make sure that the camera and lens can't move around when you take the picture. A remote that lets you control the camera is of huge benefit when you need to keep everything very still.

Thanks :) Can you recommend where I can get a decent remote for a Canon 1000D? I've tried two from online stores, both did not work on arrival.

I have an older camera with no ability for a remote or cable release, so I put the self timer on to 10 seconds to give the camera time to settle from the button press. You could try that until you sort out a remote. It was kind of sporting doing that last night considering the moon was only in the clear for 9.8 seconds at a time :-)
