.. or should that be, fungii  I crack me up.
Here's a photo taken a few weeks ago at the local bike park where we take the kids to ride their bikes.
Some fungus on an old tree stump.
Canon 350D + 18-55mm lens.
Taken in RAW, processed in Raw Shooter Premium (contrast, saturation). Final sharpen and resize for web in Photoshop.
Thanks for looking.
nice blend of colours and shapes in there... looks almost like coral :)

Nice shot Phil, I can imagine fairies hiding under there! It looks just like they do in Eliza's books :)

Its the Fly Agaric (Amanita muscaria), they're poisonous. The fairytale mushroom from Europe, its an old Polish trick to fry them on a piece of tin and then leave it out to kill flies. Apparently they're fairly common, but I had never seen them before. They're usually found under pine trees. If you're interested in identifying your fungii this site may help. http://www.anbg.gov.au/fungi/index.html

Nice shot Mike. Interesting colours and nice and sharp. It would make a great wallpaper for the desktop.
