A microscope image of Ascorbic acid which is a major constituent of Vitamin C tablets.

The crystals were dissolved in water and allowed to recrystallize between two polarizing filters which is used ordinarily for planetary imaging.

The microscope was interfaced to a Pentax K-r.

Very pretty, Steven!

I vaguely recall an image of M1 that mapped different polarisation directions to the RGB channels. It was quite an interesting view.

Cheers,
Rick.

That's very cool Steven and reminds me of something I saw in the early 70's that had something to do with acid :-)

Hi Rick,

M1 is one of a few targets in polarized light.
The Egg nebula is another one.

I have been able to fit the polarizing filters to an SBIG filter wheel but have found no targets as yet.

Yeah man.

I wonder what a polarized image of LSD is like.
