Lotsa stars and nebulosity, Louie! Nicely done. What's the FOV on that? You didn't mention what camera you used.

Cheers,
Rick.

Crisp but a bit monochrome red for my taste.
There's something around 3500 stars in the field.

astrometry.net says:
Field center: (RA H:M:S, Dec D:M:S) = (17:20:13.052, -38:12:29.694).
Field size: 2.58079 x 1.93295 degrees
Field rotation angle: up is 1.15312 degrees E of N

Very nice Louie!
Took me a while to find the name for it, but NGC 6337 / Cheerio Nebula stands out nicely!

Wow!

Nice image Louie!

Must have been a fair task to balance out the stars to the nebula.

Cheers,

Justin.

Thanks Greg, yes mate new setup and am now saving for a 10"ODK...cant wait.

Thanks Rick,ah sorry mate Its the ML8300M and the field size If I got my numbers right is 162' x 132'.

Thanks for your time....dont know what you mean by momochrome red though?not saturated enough ?

I didn't shoot any luminance only Ha and that will dominate...might grab some lumance next year and see If I can bring more hues in.

Thanks mate, yeah really hard to find much on this one and doesn't look like the regions been shot too often....there's a cute little PN in there but I struggled to find Its designation.

Thanks Justin.Yep lots of stars and It becomes a pain,so the thing to do with them is protect them the best you can.

Thanks Steven.

Thanks Marc....I was contemplating on shooting the lagoon again but just couldn't bring myself to do It! sorry dude...next time

Thaanks Steve.

Oops, I missunderstood, my apologies.
Have compared with neighbouring stars in SkySafari, looks like a match

Edit: Sorry, images are huge, couldn't work out how to resize on the Nexus7.

At first glance this looks like a fairly boring field....but with a little patience and surfing the scene it really grows on you, your processing has made a rather bland area really quite nice too, excellent, glad you shot it and love the Cheerio neb too

Reminds me a bit of this (http://www.pbase.com/strongmanmike2002/image/143429323/original) area, only fainter
