My first image of a nebula :)
20x 20 secs subs, same darks and flats, used bias from a few weeks ago.
Processedessed with nebulosity and photoshop.
Had a problem with lp and temp, about 22 deg
Saxon ed 120 , canon 500d, prime focus.

Any comments would be appreciated to try and improve my processing :D

Hi George. I know your pain when it comes to high-temp photography. The noise gets really bad. All the same you could probably make the subs a bit longer given you are taking darks. You will need a lot of subs to make the short subs work - like >100.

Try not to clip the black end of the histogram - it's left the edges of the nebula looking hard and ragged.

You might want to give it a reprocess and ask for more comments.

Looks great but a lot of pixilation which probably came from making such a large image fit IIS rules.
Try reducing size before saving to fit then you can maintain higher quality?

Cam , i see what you mean and i will give it another go. i am having a bit of trouble polar aligning at my lat, 12 deg S, so i was using alt az so my exposure time is quite short.

Pete, i think a lot of pixilation did come from having to reduce it for IIS, i'll ry what you say

Max, i use a refractor, but my wife likes the spikes so i made up a crosshair to fit over the front :)

That looks nice! My Macbook tends to make dark colours really black, but in case they really are black, just remember that space is a greyish tone due to the stochastic nature of light - it's okay to show a little noise.

I think the rest of the image looks very nice but you could probably brighten it further without issue.
