Hi,
just got a new TSA 120 and would like to paint a finder scope to match....
Does anyone know an easy to find color match for both Takahashi gree, and white?
Hopefully something at the auto store?
TIA
cheers

Yes, I have colour matches for both the green and the white.
The white is classified as Corvette White - a US colour, but I believe Holts have it in their data base.
The green is VERY similar to Toyota Gypsum - paint code DST17 - but maybe a TOUCH lighter. Genuine Tak green paint is available from AEC, the official and ONLY Tak dealer in Australia. I believe it is $9 a pot or similar.
NOTE: the Tak finders have white, black and silver trim only - no green. Green is reserved for the castings only (focuser, objective cell, dewshield caps, finder brackets, clamshells, offset plates etc).
I painted the Vixen rings in the photo of my FC-100 with Holts DST17 Gypsum - close, but not QUITE. I have since obtained a genuine pot, and had my auto paint shop mix me up a larger tin. I airbrush it with very good results.

Krylon Honeydew/Ambrosia is a pretty good match for the Tak green. It is a bit too glossy so a coat of satin clear on top can be used.

Hi Lewis,
thanks for the info. I intend to paint a few non Tak bits and pieces to match the new scope....which btw had a very brief first light last night. Have never seen a perfect star test before :-)
cheers

Get used to it :)
The FC-100 I have throws perfect in and out star test patterns each and every time - never get bored looking at it ;) We BOTH thought Vixen was really good eh... then you look through a Tak. YEOWZERS!
The TSA-120 is a lovely scope.
