Can get lost in there. Is there a way to view the sun, in that detail, live? I'm guessing I can jump on youtube and find video that looks like that, but that isn't quite the same :)

Awesome image
I find it hard to comprehend the scale of our sun. the amount of fuel it burns per second yet can live billions of years.
then we go up a few scales to the size of Canis Major.

Great view. Can't help thinking what it would look like with a fake 3D treatment. Would those proms in the middle stick up?

Thanks guys for the positive feedback.
I'm using a new data capture routine that gives a very accurate whole disk illumination.
Marc...the 3D capture might be very cool
An early morning-to-midday pair probably not would work as the fine scale structure of the sun changes quite a bit...as my h-alpha animations showed earlier.... hence I suspect it would require at least a trans-pacific baseline with two co-timed images....hummm...
