Cool. The camera may be small enough to replace the secondary with no extra light loss, but the spider arms look very thick to me...

Yes.. the problem is in plastic used, and it's strength and accuracy of the printout (0.1mm is still not easy to achieve with 3D printer, especially if objects are larger).
BTW.. I would be interested in Moon model for 3D printer :-)
Something like this:

It's the concept that fascinated me. Agreed, the scope they've built is a toy with poor design but it got me thinking about rebuilds. For example how much better could you make a spider hub if you could design anything and build it.
We sell 3D printers at work and I've looked at the build quality and capability of the bigger ones and anything is almost possible.
Just got to go a butter up the engineers that support those things.
Beer anyone ? :D

I reckon as soon as the 3D printers that can use titanium etc come down in price, it will revolutionise many things engineering wise, and the "organic" body parts printers will have massive possibilities for medicine ( if they can get it to work ).
Just not sure the Govts of the world will be happy to allow that technology out into the populace freely, esp after the printed guns fiasco.

All of my hobbies (3D Printing, Astronomy, Raspberry Pi) rolled up into one project - how cool is that?!
