Hi guys

With the jetstream overhead lately, just wanted to keep in practise so I went through an avi again from the 25th May, and reprocessed it with my techniques today. I used 4 alignment points on this image, and stacked 250 frames for each point (on each channel). So that's 12 runs through registax!

One thing I noticed while running the frames through registax, is how GREAT the seeing was on that night, and how TERRIBLE it's been lately! There was so little movement between each frame, while on recent avi's, there's huge distortions. I want Autumn seeing again :)

I'm happier with the image this time around.

Thanks for looking.

Hi Mike,

that is very pleasing to look at after what we have been having. Twelve times through Registax, now that is the sign of a man on a mission. Well done.

now THAT mike is Jupiter the way it should be... I'll have to dig out some old avis to remind me what seeing can be like. It's been soooo long soooo bad, I'm not sure I know anymore. Might have to go back to February for up here! Roll on summer roll on;)

Thanks for the comments guys.. Robert, I agree, it was so weird processing an avi from 8+ seeing again.. I haven't had a night like that since!

It makes processing a dream, instead of a chore, as it is right now.

I need to go back and process some other older data as well, because the guys doing the measurement at ALPO have asked for more images, since we in the south had the most favourable chance of capturing good data this year.
