Subject: The Tarantula nebula and a bit of the Large Magellenic cloud.
Date: 1700 hrs UT 20Aug06
Camera: Canon 350D (unmodified) prime-focus, noise reduc OFF
Exposure: 11 x 3 minutes
Scope: Orion 80ED with crosshairs piggyback on SN-8
Guidescope: SN-8
Mount: Meade LXD-75. Autoguided via MaxDSLR
Process: MaxDSLR (align & darks), Photoshop sharpen, curves, and masks for the brighter areas.
My unmodded camera does a good job picking up the blues and greens (H-beta. oIII, etc.) but not so good on the red (H-alpha).
